Being a decades long Windows user, I personally can't say that 10 has been anymore problematic than prior versions.

Most modern software is on a similar process now, commercial and open source.

When dealing with this many devices and users problems are inevitable and obviously Windows 10 changes the way things like updates work and is now on an agile development process of constant cumulative updates as opposed to a 3 year waterfall schedule. That would have really irked the fuck out of Cupertino, I promise you. Should have just called it Windows X to give a slap across the face to Apple and actually refer to it as "Windows ECKS" like the letter X and not the Roman numeral 10. I'm glad to see you at least had the decency to say up front there "From my perspective." which is what so many others forget to add, or "In my opinion" which is what my statements are based on personal experience of using Windows 10 since long before they ever chose that silly name for it. Your experience and knowledge allays most of the issues you've probably had - and I say probably there because of you saying "with my expectations" which you added there for a reason but I'm not going to presume the meaning behind it.īut I know you'll come back with a reply 'cause you always do, much to the chagrin of many. I know you love it, heatless, I get that, it's patently obvious you do and we all know it, but the truth is the OS is problematic for a great many people.

Windows 10 is an entirely different beast in that respect: no other version of Windows ever forced itself on unsuspecting consumers, no other OS had popup dialogue boxes that took advantage of the X close gadget to trigger the OS upgrade installation process - I mean really, Microsoft literally wrote malware for their own OS to install itself, and so many other issues as to make it basically untenable for use by anyone that actually would care about the extremes that Microsoft has gone to to literally shove it down the throats of ignorant and not nearly as knowledgeable folk as some of us here. You have to be honest and admit that people never had issues of these calibers with Windows 7, or even 8/8.1 for that matter.
